 About Village Glass Works

Since 1985, Village Glass Works, Stained Glass Studio has provided creatively designed custom art for homes and churches from our centrally located studio in mid-state Michigan.  The tri-city area of Michigan and beyond is home to many residential and religious commissions.

The first and second generation family staff at Village Glass Works are well-versed glass artists and craftsmen.  They create original artistic window, wall, sculpture,  and other architectural renderings capturing the beauty of design, light, and color that stained, leaded, dalle de verre, and fused glass offer.  The windows and other architectural elements are designed and crafted on site by our expert staff. Appointments for custom glass can be made by calling the studio. Please refer to the "location" tab.

Sarah and Debra have extensive knowledge in fused glass and slumped glass.  Jointly they have over 50 years of knowledge.  Art at the Village contains the fused glass art of Sarah J. and Debra J. VanTol, Glass blowing using cremains, and past liturgical (church) and residential commissions.  Purchases of window panels, fused and blown art can be made when visiting VGW's Art at the Village Gallery.

The hot glass studio has been in existence since 2012. Glass blowing occurs on weekday evenings and sometimes on weekends.

Veteran and beginner glass craftsmen alike find our selection of glass and tools alluring.  Solder to slumping molds can be purchased.  The store stocks  Bullseye  glass for fused glass projects. The purchase of supplies occurs during the "likely" hours of the studio.

Debra VanTol has developed the slumped glass technique used in the Sun-Sculpture products manufactured and marketed by Village Glass Works.

Village Glass Works shares their knowledge through the classes offered at the studio in Michigan. FREE advice/help is given to VGW students.  A non VGW student makes an appointment and incurs a fee.  Debra has shared her knowledge of fused glass throughout the USA including Hot Glass Horizons classes in Portland Oregon,  Corning New York, and Las Vegas Nevada and private studios.
